Easter at Gripsholm
During Easter weekend, we will be opening the gates to Gripsholm Castle. Take a trip to Mariefred and visit one of our most popular castles.
Gripsholm is open during Easter 18 to 21 April. Here you can wander through four centuries of history. There are rooms dating from the times of the Vasa kings, King Gustav III's theatre, canons, winding passageways, an armoury, King Erik XIV's prison and Leo the lion, who looks unlike any other lion in the world.
You can explore the castle by yourself at your own pace. During Easter weekend, family tours will be given in Swedish.
Fashion Safari and Beard Hunt
Bring the children! Our image hunts ensuring a fun and educational visit. The images on the activity sheets are taken from some of the castle's hundreds of portraits, which feature a great variety of follicle fashions!
Carry out the tasks by yourself during ordinary opening hours. The activity is suitable for children of all ages.
Easter café
In the Kronköket kitchen at the castle's inner court yard you can also have a Swedish "fika". Coffe, cakes, buns and hot dogs will be served.
Open from 12:30 to 15:00.
The Royal Gift Shop
Visit the castle's gift and souvenir shop. Here, you will find products with a connection with objects from the Royal Collections.
Open from 12:00 to 15:00.
