Guided tours
You can walk around Gripsholm Castle by yourself, but taking a guided tour can make your visit extra special.
Take a tour through the Vasa castle’s winding corridors, historic chambers and rooms. The museum experts will guide you through the castle’s history from the 16th to the 19th centuries and point out some highlights – from the Vasa section to Gustav III’s theatre and paintings from the Swedish National Portait Gallery.

May–Sept: Daily in English at 15:00
The guided tours takes approximately 45 minutes.
Tours are for individuals, and cost SEK 40 in addition to the standard entry price. The guided tour ticket is available at the ticket office or here at the website. The tour is free for children under the age of 18. Limited spaces available.
Guided tour of the Palace Park
The Royal Walks app will take you on a historic tour around the grounds of the castle, following in the footsteps of King Gustav Vasa, the medieaval king that built the castle.
The Royal Walks app (Kungliga promenader) can be downloaded free of charge. The texts are in Swedish and English, and is illustrated with new and historic photos. You can read them or have them read aloud, and also enjoy them from home.
