The Royal Apartments includes the Bernadotte Apartments, the State Apartments and the Guest Apartments. The Apartments of the Orders of Chivalry and the Hall of State are also part of the Royal Apartments.
Independent visits
We are admitting external groups to the Royal Palace of Stockholm. Guided tours may be held indoors during opening hours.
The Royal Palace of Stockholm has four public units: the Royal Apartments, the Treasury, the Tre Kronor Museum and, during the summer season, Gustav III's Museum of Antiquities. It is possible to visit one or more units.
Please note: due to the limited space inside The jubilee exhibition Vasa to Bernadotte guided tours with external guides are not permitted here. All group members must walk around individually inside the exhibition.
Admission tickets
There are a limited number of tickets that are valid for a specific day and timeslot. Purchasing an admission ticket guarantees entry at the time stated on the ticket. Admission tickets can be purchased online at the regular price.
Admission tickets with a tour operator discount can only be purchased at the entrance on arrival. You are welcome to contact us before your visit to check availability or to make a reservation. Contact information can be found further down this page, under Contact and inquiries.
Please note: for The jubilee exhibition Vasa to Bernadotte a separate ticket is required, no tour operator discount. You are welcome to contact us before your visit to check availability or to make a reservation.
Group size
We do not have any minimum or maximum limits for external groups, but we recommend a maximum of 30 people to ensure the best possible experience. Large groups may be directed past certain rooms due to space constraints. Please follow the instructions of the palace staff.
Please note: inside The jubilee exhibition Vasa to Bernadotte all group members must walk around individually. Due to the limited space inside the exhibition it is not possible to move around in groups.
Opening hours should always be checked before visiting as there may be closures in conjunction with HM The King's official receptions.
Logistics
Entrance to the Royal Apartments: West vault (2).
Note - during the period 12 May up until 3 September the entrance is via Hall of State (6).

All lift assistance is available via the West Vault (2).
From midsummer up until 17 August a one-way flow apply inside The Royal Apartments, meaning all visitors must move around in the same direction. The rest of the year, the apartments can be visited in any order.
Exceptions may occur in conjunction with HM The King's official representations.

Practical information
Toilets
Toilets can be found at Tickets & Information (1) in the Outer Courtyard. The toilets are open when the palace is open.
For our palace visitors, the ticket to the toilet is included in the entrance fee, for other visitors the fee for the toilets is 10 SEK. The fee can be paid in a ticket machine or in one of our cash desks.
Bags
Owing to the sensitive environment, larger bags/backpacks or suitcases cannot be taken into the palaces. Umbrellas must be placed in umbrella stands.
Smaller bags and backpacks can be taken in provided that they are worn on your front and are under full surveillance. This also applies to child harnesses.
Parking
There are only a few parking spaces around the palace. These are managed by the City of Stockholm.

Photography
Photographing and filming is allowed for private use – without flash/lights, tripods, selfie sticks or other fixed equipment – as long as it does not disturb other visitors, guided tours or other activity at the palace. Photographing and filming with 360 camera or drone camera are not allowed. Commercial or other arranged photography or filming is not allowed. Price list, terms & conditions for travel companies
Due to increased costs and adjustments to prices in general, The Royal Palaces will implement increased prices for tour operators in the coming two years, 2023 and 2024. Rates for the years following thereafter will be communicated later.

The 2023 price list for tour operators and authorised guides has now been confirmed and will enter into force on 1 January 2023. The document Terms & conditions and Price list can be ordered via the form below, or by phone +46 8 402 61 00, telephone hours weekdays 9:00 AM to 12 PM.

Price list with terms and conditions for 2024 will be available in October 2023.
Please note that travel companies and authorised guides are responsible for obtaining new
prices lists in writing before each season.
Price list request
Payment
Payments can be made by card or cash on site. The full amount is paid by the group leader. We accept SEK only.
Payment by voucher is accepted. Please present your voucher at the front desk on arrival. When visiting one unit, thew voucher will be exchanged for a payment receipt. When visiting several units, the voucher will be exchanged for tickets for all participants. NB: E-mail vouchers cannot be accepted. Your invoice will be sent after the visit. Payment terms are 30 days net. We invoice you for each voucher. Merging of several vouchers is not possible.
The voucher needs to state the following information:
- The company's full name, address and contact details
- The company's invoice address (postal address and email for pdf-invoice/information regarding electronic invoice)
- The company's e-mail address for any payment matters
- The company's phone number
- Any voucher ID so that you can identify the group for which we are invoicing you
- The palace you are visiting
- The unit(s) visited
- The date of the visit
- The number of guests, categorised into: adults, children aged 7-17, children aged 0-6, number of tour leaders/coach drivers (free entry fo a maximum of two)
- Specify what you will be paying for (entrance, guided tours, etc.)
- Signature and name clarification from the group leader
Pre-payment is not possible.
Tours with a palace guide and visits outside of opening hours
Would you like a tour with a palace guide? Would you like to visit us outside opening hours? Please contact us using the form below or by calling +46 (0)8 402 61 00 on weekdays between 09:00 and 12:00.
Useful information: If the group has an external authorised guide, he or she is also welcome to give tours outside opening hours. Pre-booking is required, and charges apply.
Charges for pre-booked tours
SEK 1,000 -3,400, depending on the site and the time. In addition, entry charges apply per person. Please contact us for full price details.
The price relates to a 45 minute guided tour in groups of 15-30 persons, depending on the site.
