The following information is aimed at travel companies and authorised guides who wish to visit the Royal Palace of Stockholm with groups. Below, you can read about independent visits, logistics, practical information, payment, tours with a palace guide, opening hours and planned closures.
OPENING HOURS 2021
1 June – until further notice: The Royal Apartments are open daily 10:00–16:00
Closed: 24 and 25 December
6 June – 31 October: The exhibition “Daisy. Crown Princess Margareta"
Separate entrance ticket required.
A limited number of people are admitted at a time via our ticketing system.
The Treasury, Museum Three Crowns and Gustav III’s Museum of Antiquities are closed until further notice.
In conjunction with His Majesty the King's official reception the palace can be completely or partially closed.
DIFFERENT OPENING HOURS 2021
20-22 September: The State apartment and the Bernadotte apartment partly open.
23-27 September: The Bernadotte apartment partly open.
28 September: The Royal apartments and The exhibition Daisy will open from approx. 13.00.
29-30 September: The Bernadotte apartment partly open.
We welcome external groups to the Royal Palace, but due to the coronavirus pandemic, new routines apply.
Guided tours may not be held inside. All visitors must move individually inside the castle, in order to keep a safe distance from each other. Groups may only gather outside the palaces in such a way that it is easy to maintain safe distancing and for others visitors to pass by.
Our public tours are cancelled until further notice. We recommend the Royal Palaces app and our audio guides (used on your own smart phone) for those who want a self-guided tour inside the palaces.
There are a limited number of tickets that are valid for a specific day and timeslot. Purchasing an admission ticket guarantees entry at the time stated on the ticket. Admission tickets can be purchased online at the regular price.
Admission tickets with a tour operator discount can only be purchased at the entrance on arrival. However, there is a risk that there will be no tickets left until the exact time you want to enter. You are welcome to contact us before your visit to check availability. Contact information can be found further down this page, under Contact and inquiries.
Entrance to the Royal Apartments and to the exhibition “Daisy. Crown Princess Margareta” is exclusively via the West Voult (4).
Exit from the Royal Apartments is via the Hall of State, closest to the South Vault(6) during September then via the West Vault (2).
Exit from the exhibition is via the West Vault (2).
Visitors can move between the palace’s Royal Apartments in any order except during the period mid-June to mid-August when we are operating a one-way system in the apartments.
All lift assistance is available via the West Vault.
Exceptions may occur in conjunction with HM The King's official representations.

Due to the current situation regarding Covid-19, we cannot give a date on which prices and conditions for 2022 will be ready. We ask for your patience and will get back to you as soon as we can.
Please note that travel companies and authorised guides are responsible for obtaining new
prices lists in writing before each season.
Price list request
Toilets can be found at Tickets & Information (1) in the Outer Courtyard. The toilets are open when the palace is open.
For our palace visitors, the ticket to the toilet is included in the entrance fee, for other visitors the fee for the toilets is 10 SEK. The fee can be paid in a ticket machine (card only) or in one of our cash desks (cash or card). The nearest cash desk can be found at the Royal Gift Shop.
Owing to the sensitive environment, larger bags/backpacks or suitcases cannot be taken into the palaces. Umbrellas must be placed in umbrella stands. Smaller bags and backpacks can be taken in provided that they are worn on your front and are under full surveillance. This also applies to child harnesses.
Please note: There are no storage lockers or other bag storage facilities at the palace.
There are only a few parking spaces around the palace. These are managed by the City of Stockholm.

Photographing and filming is allowed for private use – without flash/lights, tripods, selfie sticks or other fixed equipment – as long as it does not disturb other visitors, guided tours or other activity at the palace. Photographing and filming with 360 camera or drone camera are not allowed. Commercial or other arranged photography or filming is not allowed. Welcome to the Royal Gift Shop (1). Here, you will find a wide range of products with a connection to objects from the Royal Collections. A smaller shop is also available in the Bernadotte Apartments inside the palace. For more information, please see the Royal Gift Shop's website.
The changing of the guard
The changing of the guard and the parade are a popular tourist attraction. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the restrictions introduced by the Swedish Government, parades through Stockholm and the ceremonial changing of the guard will not be taking place. Payment by card is possible at the ticket office on site. The full amount is paid by the group leader.
NB: Cash is only accepted in the Royal Gift Shop. Only Swedish currency (SEK).
Payment by voucher is accepted. Please present your voucher at the front desk on arrival. NB: E-mail vouchers cannot be accepted. Your invoice will be sent after the visit. Payment terms are 30 days net. The voucher needs to state the following information:
- The company's full name, address and contact details
- The company's invoice address (GLN number, email, or postal address)
- The company's e-mail address for any payment matters
- Any voucher ID so that you can identify the group for which we are invoicing you
- The palace you are visiting
- The unit(s) visited
- The date of the visit
- The number of guests, categorised into: adults, students (with valid student ID), children aged 7-17, children aged 0-6, number of tour leaders/coach drivers (free entry fo a maximum of two)
- Specify what you will be paying for (entrance, guided tours, etc.)
- Signature and name clarification from the group leader
Pre-payment is not possible.
Tours with a palace guide and visits outside of opening hours
Guided tours with a palace guide and visits outside opening hours cannot be offered until further notice.
